In October 2019, a two-day audit examined the quality management standard of all four departments of the EB House Austria. The audit was successfully completed and the EB House Austria was awarded the certification according to the norm ISO 9001. Particular emphasis was placed on the high level of professional competence of all employees, the good  communication with patients and their relatives, and the high level of quality awareness.

The certificate confirms the establishment of effective quality assurance and sustainable quality management of the EB House. Certification according to ISO 9001 is a globally recognized proof of competence and performance for customers - in our case patients - but also for cooperation partners, stakeholders and suppliers. In addition, such a quality management system (QMS) serves the employees as a valuable instrument for quality assurance and for a continuous improvement processes.

As part of a 2-day audit, all four departments of the EB House were reviewed by auditors with medical and nursing experience from the renowned certification company Quality Austria. They analyzed the processes in the EB House and the working methods of it’s employees in detail and came to a positive result: The audit was successfully completed without deviations and with only a few suggestions for improvement! In the audit report the strengths of the EB House were specified amongst others as follows: ... "the high professional competence of all employees, the good  communication with patients and their relatives, the high level of awareness and commitment with regard to quality and quality development, ...".
The certificate confirms that the EB House has established effective quality assurance and sustainable quality management.

Certification offers many advantages for the EB House. A certified quality management system serves sponsors or study partners as proof that the documentation processes comply with the international standards. This is relevant for conducting studies, amongst others. Certification ensures that processes are regularly reviewed and improved. Risk management in health care is an important part of quality assurance and of interestfor insurance companies as evidence for risk minimization. With the successful completion of the certification, once again the pioneering role of the EB Houses was demonstrated. Regardless of the international development towards the certification of all hospitals, only a few Austrian institutions have taken this step so far.
